HIMMATWALA !!! (1983)

Sher Singh committed a crime. The honest school teacher became the witness, though; the High Court was unable to keep Sher Singh behind the bars. Menaka stripped her own blouse to create a case of fake molestation charges against Dharam. Thank God! At that time, there was no Section 354, otherwise, Dharam ka Adharm ho jaata. As a punishment, the schoolmaster was ordered to stay out of the village for one month. Savitri came at the Zamindar’s house to take the Provident Fund money of her hubby, but, she was not even given a 10 rupee note. After coming to village, Rabi was stunned to see the poor condition of his mother and sister. Now, he understood why he was not allowed to come to the village. 

Indian Government sanctioned the project of creating a dam on Godavari River. Sher Singh wanted to sell his 200 acres of barren lands to the Indian Government at a very high price. For that, he bribed 10,000 rupees to the engineer. Sher Singh was totally surprised to see Savitri. When Savitri gave the real identity of the engineer, the prestige of Sher Singh got punctured. Govind and Champa got married to each other and they were very happy in their married life. Due to Rekha’s cruel attitude, Govind had to experience some heavy blows from Mr. Singh’s goons. Rabi scolded Rekha and gave some lectures of humanities. In the bedroom, Rekha was playing with the night lamp. O Rekha, are you in love? ‘Taa thaiya…Taa thaiya…oho…dhoom tana…dhoom tana…naa…Naino mein sapna, sapna mein sajna, sajna mein dil aa gaya…tu hi chaa gaya…joh tu aa gaya.

Bhushan came to the village. Mausi marne se pehle boli thi ke Rekha ka haath mere haath mein dene ke liye. Abbey, Ullu ke patthe, jab tera mausi mari thi, tu wahan nahi tha. Leela tried to play the tricks to create a fake molestation charges against Rabi. Munimji locked the door from outside and called everyone. Rabi came out with Rekha. Oh! No! Sher Singh! You are in a very awkward position. Munimji got some hard beatings from Sher Singh. O Taki…o taki…o taki taki…taki re…The love birds danced out of joy in their own unique style. Munimji’s son was in love with the younger sister of that engineer. Padmini threatened to her family members that she would commit suicide, if she is forced to get married with some other guy except Shakti. Sher Singh started playing the game. Gopaldas ordered his son to marry Miss Murthy. 

Natural calamities took place in Gujarat. Several Indians died in the cyclone and flood in Gujarat. Rabi created a rescue team and collected foods and money from the villagers to provide some relief to the sufferers in Gujarat. While doing his duty in the rescue operation, Govind experienced Cholera and died. Champa committed suicide. Sher Singh got the contract of the project. The engineer refused to allow any illegal process. Narayandas was given the order to abuse his daughter-in-law. Rural Indian women were totally unaware of Section 498 A in those days. The pregnant Padmini was feeling fed up due to the mental tortures by her hubby and father-in-law. One day, Padmini went to her elder brother’s house to get those papers signed. Rabi became too emotional to sign those papers. But, after a while, Padmini understood the entire game plan and tore off those signed papers. 

If my younger sister is my weak point, then you are your father’s weak point. So, as a daughter, you have to fool your father for some days. Bhushan, I am eating sour mangoes and tamarind. I have started liking all the sour fruits nowadays. Bhushan understood everything when Rekha started vomiting. Sher Singh felt a mild heart attack after hearing the news of Rekha’s pregnancy. Baah Baah, khel suru ho gaya. To talk about my marriage, please have a talk with my mother to have her permission regarding this. Aise bol raha hain jaise meri beti ko maa banana se pehle, apne maa ka permission le ke aaya tha. Rabi promised to marry Rekha on certain conditions. Shakti and Narayandas started showing caring attitude towards Padmini. Gopaldas became a servant in his own house. Shakti had to clean up a buffalo’s body also. After taking some dips in the Godavari River, both of them chanted, ‘Jai Govinda…Jai Govinda…’

Bhushan heard their secret discussion. Sher Singh became furious after knowing the real truth. After 15 years, Dharam was very happy as he got reunited with his family members. The action began. Shakti understood his mistake. Menaka was forced to confess in a Panchayat meeting in front of the villagers that the schoolmaster did not try to molest her 15 years back. It was just a fake molestation case and Sher Singh gave her money for doing this job. The villagers were happy to get back their beloved and honest school master. The cruel era of Sher Singh for 40 years came to an end due to that “HIMMATWALA” of 1983.
