‘Main aatma-hatya karna chahta hoon. Tum South Indians ke dil
bilkul tumhare gharon ki tarah; ekdum khali.’ The Tamilian student didn’t like
the Gujarati Sambhar in the canteen of IIM Ahmedabad. Now, how can you expect a
Head Cook of IIM Ahmedabad to cook Tamilian Sambhar? After all, it is IIM
Ahmedabad not IIM Chennai. After passing the CAT exam, all the new students who
get admission in IIMs are full of energy and attitude. The Head Cook of IIM Ahmedabad
became angry on that girl student. Krish Malhotra requested the Head Cook to
give his 1 rasogolla to Ananya Swaminathan. ‘Please kahi bahar jaa ke khaatey hain.’
Krish and Ananya went outside the IIM Ahmedabad Campus during the lunch break
to enjoy some good foods. ‘Gandhiji ka janam hua tha yahan.’ ‘Aur woh Beer ke
against teh?’ Oho! Gujarat is not a friendly state for alcohol lovers. ‘Tamil
Brahmins non-veg nahi khaate, mein shuddh Brahmin hoon isiliye.’ Oh! No! Pure
Tamil Brahmins are non-vegetarians. ‘Panjabi hoon, daaru ke bina hamara chicken
hajam ee nahi hoti.’ The Punjabi boy and the Tamilian girl became good friends.
Welcome to IIM Ahmedabad. Cooking up of a love story is on the cards.
In the 1st Semester of any MBA Course, you have to
read about the subject of Macro-Economics and Micro-Economics. The Professor of
Economics class wanted to know about how the Basic Marginal Utility Curve is
represented mathematically from an Economics Graduate Student. Oh! No! The
Economics student failed to answer it. The topper of a College in Economics was not
having the basic knowledge of Economics but an IT Engineer had. The Group Study
started. Group Study of two opposite sexes and that too inside a campus is not
so bad, but, better control your hearts if you really can. Krish wanted to
become a writer one day. ‘Story mein Hero woh ya na ho, baas story hit honi
chaiye.’ The girl who used to stay in AVS Girls Youth Hostel appreciated the
future plan of Krish about becoming a novel writer. Ananya wanted to become a
good marketing professional only. After the 1st Semester results,
Ananya got B+ but Krish got A- in Economics. ‘Ek kaam karo apna Gold Medals jaa
ke Professor Chatterjee ko dikha doh.’ Krish was not happy with the dressing
sense of Ananya. ‘Shorts kafhi short hain.’ Ananya covered up her body in black
outfits to impress Krish. Girls are always too smart. They will know about your
likes and dislikes. After that, they will impress you by capitalizing on your
likes. Krish’s heart started feeling, ‘Eklauta mera dil tha, bholabhala simple
tha, tujhse main takraaya, sarphira ho gaya. Mujhe pyar laaga jo, tujhe laaga
bhaichaara. Baanke musibat peeche pari hain, yeh comedy hain ya tragedy hain;
na hona tha kyon ho gaya.’ One day, Krish’s heart had the romantic outburst.
‘Humein saath saath padai nahi karna chaiye. It is not you with me.’ After a
few days, Ananya came to the AVS Youth Boys Hostel to meet Krish at his room to
know the exact reasons about why Krish is ignoring Ananya. Krish clarified
everything, ‘Yeh dosti ka natak mujhse nahi hoga. Main tumhe meri girlfriend
banana chahta hoon. I just want to kiss you.’ What Ananya wanted to say, Krish
told her that before she could say about it! Aha! It was like a double bonanza
offer for Ananya. As a net result, Ananya and Krish got lip-locked to start a
new journey of love and romance. ‘Yahan kuch nahi hain, yeh ladka sirf padhai
karta hain.’
‘Yeh tumhara first time tha?’ ‘Tumhare saath first time tha.’
Krish told her about her ex-girlfriend, Rashmi, the daughter of the Principal
of the College in which Krish studied. Ananya didn’t want to become another
Rashmi. That’s why; Ananya had a plan to shift her focus towards the commitment
factor of their love relationship, but before that, she wanted to tighten her
grip on Krish. ’Dil ka dimaag se jhagra lagaya kaise; peeche ke darwaaje se
daabe paayon aaya kaise? Isse daanth ke bhagao ya seeney se lagao.’ Placement
was about to start at IIM Ahmedabad. Krish wanted some more time to think about
commitment. Ananya backfired, ‘2 saal kaafi nahi thi Krish. Tum mardon ka na
yeh bahut accha hain. Khelne khudne ke
liye bilkul time hain par jaara sa commitment maago, toh sochne ke liye waqt
chaiye.’ While giving the job interview for the Sunsilk Company, Ananya got a
proposal. What was that? After the last semester results, it was time for the
Convocation in IIM Ahmedabad. Ananya’s parents and Krish’s mother saw each
other for the first time in that IIM-Ahmedabad Convocation Ceremony. The battle
of egos started. Their battle was far more intense than any IPL match between
Kings XI Punjab Team and Chennai Super Kings Team. Krish went back home at
Delhi. Ananya got a marketing job in Sunsilk Company and got posted in her home
town, Chennai itself. Yes Bank gave an offer letter to Krish. The HR Policies
of Private Banks are far more flexible than that of PSU Banks as the Private
Banks give you an option to write about your 3 Preference Places of Posting in
preferential order. Krish was confused whether to get a posting in Delhi or in
Chennai. Vikram Malhotra, the retired military person cum owner of Malhotra
Securities always hated his in-laws and as a result, his relationships with his
wife and son also deteriorated with time. Krish decided to get out of Delhi and
got the job posting in Chennai.
Welcome to Chennai. Ananya invited Krish one day at her house
for dinner. Chennai is still having water and electricity problems. Full credit
to DMK and AIADMK, ha ha ha. Shiva Swaminathan was fed up of his hometown. Ananya
gave an idea to Krish to give IT tuition to her younger brother. ‘Mann mast
magan, baas tera naam dauhoraye.’ Ananya’s father made it very clear that
Krish, a Punjabi boy cannot marry Ananya, a Tamilian girl. Vikram, being a
father understood the fact that why his son took the job posting at Chennai.
Krish managed to impress Radha Swaminathan, the mother of Ananya. Ananya
visited Krish’s house in Delhi. Vikram became angry on Krish again. ’Ish
naalayek bete se kaho seedhe muh baat kiya kare.’ Few years back, Krish told
about Rashmi to Vikram. At that time, Vikram and Krish had a very rough time.
That mental wound in the relationship between a father and a son has not got
healed yet. In a Punjabi wedding ceremony, Ananya impressed Kabita Malhotra! In
India, only love is not sufficient to go for marriage. From Love to Marriage,
it is not so an easy journey. Mumbai became the destination for a vacation to
make understanding between Chennians and Delhites. But, situation worsened.
‘Adhoori adhoori kahani, adhoora alvida’. Krish started typing his love story. Why
a Father is always a Father for his children? Daddy Cool! Why the Punjabi
Puttar started liking his Punjabi Papa? Finally, did those Punjabis and
Tamilians succeeded in breaking the cultural, sociological and mental barriers
between the “2 STATES”?
