In a developing nation like Bharat, if there is no money, then there is no sweetness of honey in your life. Sports Infrastructure of Bharat Nation is still at a very amateur stage in respect to the Sports Infrastructure of other nations like China, Australia, Russia, South Africa, UK and USA. Mahavir Singh Phogat, despite becoming a National Champion in wrestling; gave up wrestling as there was very less money in wrestling and no such support were provided by the Khel Mantrak of Bharat Sarkar in those days. But the dream of winning a gold medal in wrestling for Bharat Nation remained within his heart. In a male dominated society, only men were allowed to do wrestling as women were considered as a weaker entity both physically and mentally in respect to men. Therefore, Mahavir Singh was desperate to become a father of at least one baby boy.

God had some other plans and maybe was in full favour of women empowerment in Bharat Nation.  With four daughters, Mahavir Singh felt demotivated till that particular day when he realized, ‘Inke hoon mein bhi pehelwani hain.’ When God has given you the green signal to start your mission to train your young daughters to become champion wrestlers of the future, then who cares even if those little girls criticize by singing, ‘Baapu haanikarak hain’; after all, your vision is to see those wrestlers earning a gold medal for Bharat Nation. Oh! What a haircut! But, why Mahavir slapped his nephew in a wedding party? ‘Kaash Bhagwan ne aisa baap manne diya hota.’ That young bride’s statements changed their mindsets completely. Jat aur Hariyanvi ka zid poore duniya mein mashoor hain. Woh Jat aur Hariyanvi hee kya, jis mein junoon aur zid naa ho. Aur wohi zid Geeta aur Babita ne pakad lee hain ke pehelwan banna hain, toh baash banna hain kisi bhi haalat pe. ‘Kaal hum log Rohtak jaa rahe hain.’

The ticket price was only Rs.2/-. Look at the spectators. They were so enthusiastic to see a female wrestler fighting against a male wrestler. Geeta Kumari lost her first wrestling match but became hungry to win her first wrestling match against any male wrestler. Haar ke baad hee jeet hobe hain aur wohi jeet gur jaisa meetha laage hain. From that point, Geeta Kumari never looked back and also her younger sister, Babita Kumari was also winning many wrestling matches one after another. Maano jaise doh sherni aave hain wrestling ke duniya mein. ‘Aisi dhakkad hain, dhakkad hain, aisi dhakkad hain.’ Why Mahavir Singh resigned from his job? ‘India medal isliye nahi jeet paata hain, kyun ki kurshi pe aap jaise officer baithe huye hain.’ ‘Yeh Mat kya hota hain jee?’ The training started on terrace with the photo of real synthetic mat with Yellow, Red and Black colour combination. Also remember the points chart ‘1,2,3,5’. ‘Aap ki chorhi underweight hain.’ But, Shamim’s Chickens had lots of proteins.

National Champion Wrestlers of Wrestling were supposed to take training at National Sports Academy. ‘Joh galat training mili hain ussey bhoolna hogaa. Galat diet, galat exercise, galat training; yeh sab bhoolna hoga.’ It is like saying a batsman to forget his own batting techniques on the basis of which he got selected in the National Cricket Squad after performing so well in Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy and IPL matches. National Coach, Pramod Kadam brainwashed Geeta and told her to forget papa’s teachings about wrestling. As a net result, Geeta started losing wrestling matches one after another. On the other hand, Babita also became a national champion and joined NSA. ‘Kuch log nahi bane hote hain International jeet ke liye.’ A battle is won with the strength of your strong qualities or talents that you have. Always play your natural game and offense is the best defense. ‘Main aariya Patiala.’ The National Coach was eyeing only any three medals, but, Mahavir’s target was Gold, Gold and Gold.

Geeta and Babita started taking secret training under the coaching of Mahavir Singh Phogat. Seeney mein ‘Arjun Vaan’ laagne ke baad Pramod saab chup naa baithe hain, seedha thokh diya shikayat. NSA Committee gave them another chance with a condition that neither Mahavir is allowed to enter NSA Campus, nor Geeta and Babita are allowed to go out of the NSA campus at any cost. Laptop hain, CD hain, tab ki gal hain; oye pappe, yeh training bhi digital mode mein hoga. ‘Again, Suspense!’ ‘Atlanta, Indonesia!’  Commonwealth Games of 2010 started in Delhi. Geeta defeated Melissa with her natural attacking style. Geeta frustrated Nigerian Naomi with defensive tactics and reached the final. ‘Mera credit jo hain, papa ko jaata hain.’ ‘Aap ko bronze chaiye tha, ho sakta hain kaal Geeta Gold jeet jaaye.’ Geeta took 5 points within last 22 seconds against Australian Angelina to get first Gold Medal as a female wrestler for Bharat Nation in Commonwealth Games 2010 “DANGAL”.
