SHAHID !!!

‘Jurm karnewale aur jurm sahenewale, inh dono ka koi majhap nahi hota hain. Marta bhi insaan hain aur maarta bhi insaan hain.’ In 1993, riots between Hindus and Muslims took place in different parts of Mumbai City. In the name of riots, so many Indian Muslims got brainwashed by the Pakistani terrorists and Pakistani funded Indian maulvis. Shahid Azmi went to Pakistan acquired Kashmir area to take the training on terrorism. The non-violent mentality person, Shahid came back to India in the month of July of the year 1993 after succeeding to run away from the Terrorists’ Training Camp. In January 1994, Shahid got arrested under TADA Act (Terrorist and Disruptive Activities Act). But, in reality, this act became a TADAP Act (Terrorist and Disruptive Activities Prevention Act) as so many innocent people had to stay behind the bars for years after years without any evidences against them to prove the criminal charges against them. Shahid was also a victim. In Lodhi Road Police Station of New Delhi, Shahid had to experience both physical and mental torture from the policemen.

Inside the Tihar Jail of New Delhi, Omar Sheikh, a Pakistani terrorist cum jihadi person tried to brainwash Shahid to join the terrorist group to fight against Indian Government. Even Pakistan was planning to hijack an Indian plane to take out Omar Sheikh from Tihar Jail in return of those hijacked Indian passengers in that plane. Shahid was lucky that Gulam Nabi Bwar and Dr. Saxena were there inside the Tihar Jail to motivate Shahid to continue his studies. Gulam Nabi Bwar got released from the Tihar Jail but he promised to fight the case of Shahid Azmi. In February 2000, Shahid Azmi got released from Tihar Jail as a non-guilty person. ‘Waqt laagta hain par hoya hain.’ Shahid started working as a Trainee in a legal consultancy firm which was owned by Majeed Memon, a reputed lawyer. In October 2002, Shahid met Mariam, a divorcee woman with a child. Mariam wanted to fight a property dispute case. Shahid realized that Majeed Memon is not helping the innocent people, rather defending the anti-socials as anti-socials always give more money to any lawyer to win any criminal case. Shahid left the job and opened up his own legal consultancy firm.

Being a lawyer, Shahid Azmi started to shine in his profession. Shahid married Mariam. Shahid’s family members were not happy with Shahid about his marriage with Mariam, but, Shahid’s brother, Arif promised to help him at anytime. TADA got replaced by another Act in November 2002 and that was POTA Act (Prevention of Terrorism Act). In December 2002 itself, just after the implementation of POTA Act, the Ghatkopar Bomb Blast took place. Zaheer Sheikh, an innocent person was arrested under POTA Act. In India, policemen had a bad habit of arresting the innocent people and closing the files or cases of terrorism. But, after 26/11 attacks, the style of investigations has been modernized to some extent, but still it has several lapses. In 2004, Shahid Azmi succeeded in acquitting Zaheer Sheikh as a non guilty person. As an innocent person gets bail as a non-guilty person in these cases of terrorism, automatically, the files or cases are getting re-opened with fresh investigations. Now, these things were becoming a major worry for the Pakistani Terrorist Groups. The Pakistani Terrorists started giving threats to Shahid.

On 26^th November 2008, Pakistani terrorists killed more than 160 innocent persons or so in different places of Mumbai City, the financial capital of India. In February 2009, under POTA Act, the Indian Policemen arrested Faheem Khan as one of the prime accused of the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai. Pakistani terrorists were happy that the Mumbai Police stopped their investigation after arresting an innocent person like Faheem Khan for the 26/11 attacks case. But, Shahid Azmi again entered inside the legal battlefield to fight against the Public Prosecutor to prove that Faheem Khan is an innocent person. The threat calls from the Pakistani terrorists became more frequent. Even outside the High Court, in front of Ramanathan, another lawyer; some people blackened the face of Shahid with some black dust. The terrorists started giving threats to Shahid by saying that they will give the information to Indian media channels that Shahid Azmi went to Pakistan acquired Kashmir once to take the training on terrorism. Mariam’s sixth sense was strong enough to understand that Shahid’s life is in danger. That’s why; Mariam went out of Shahid’s life with her own child. On 11^th February 2010, did the bullet firing rounds at night hours made someone “SHAHID”?
